TRAINING AND PLACEMENT CELL
PLACEMENT POLICY AND PROCESS
All the final year Undergraduate, Post Graduate students who are either pursuing or have successfully completed their course are eligible to be a part of the recruitment programme of Mahaguru Institute of Technology. All efforts are made to place the concerned students in the best of organizations in India and abroad through Training and Placement cell along with various departmental supports.
Student Registration:
- Students seeking placement must register for the placement service in the beginning of seventh semester. The registration is done through a placement registration form circulated to the students during the beginning of seventh semester.
- One needs to build their CV and submit along with the Placement Registration Form.
- However the student will be treated as eligible only if CGPA > 6 and has no active backlogs. But those students will be considered for placement activities if any company demands for such students.
- One can add / modify additional information by communication with the training and placement cell through the department placement coordinator.
- The registered and eligible students(as per company norms) will be able to take part in the further placement process. All other students will be treated as Not Interested/Not eligible.
Applying for an Organisation:
- After successful registration, candidate will be given timely information about the companies and roles for which he/she is eligible to apply.
- Once a student applies to a company, he/she is agreeing to the terms and conditions mentioned for the corresponding company and will agree to take part in the complete process.
- Once applied, a student can withdraw for a specific company only till the last date of CV / profile submission for that Company.
- Once the last date is over the candidate will not be able to withdraw from the process.
Selection:
- Once a student is offered, he/she has to accept the offer within the deadline. Failing which the offer is cancelled, however the student is treated as placed.
- If any student has multiple offers in hand, he/she has to choose one within the specific deadline.
- The Training and Placement Cell follows multiple job offer policy. The students can attend placement drives (if interested) even though they have other offers in hand.
- Company needs to provide the final list of selected students and waitlisted students (if any) at the end of the recruitment process to TPO.
- The Placement Officer also coordinates the signing of offer letters by students who have been selected to ensure that they reach the company/organization as per their joining dates.
Other Instructions to students:
- It is advisable to attend the briefing sessions for all eligible companies.
- The deadlines are strict and no request for any extension will be entertained under any circumstance.
- Students are not expected to discuss or disclose any policy related matters of Training and Placement Cell with the companies visiting campus for placement drives, or to anybody outside college or to any training company.
- The decisions taken by Training and Placement Cell will be final and reserves the right to revoke or modify the same.
- Anybody defaming the institution’s name will be deregistered from any further placement activities. The matter will be immediately reported to the respective HOD and the Principal.
- On Campus Recruitment Day, the Students have to ensure the following:
- Must report on time as mentioned in the schedule(On Campus / Off Campus)
- Students must Wear Business Formals for every recruitment process. Students wearing casuals during recruitment process will not be allowed.
- Students should carry one folder with them containing Resumes, Passport size Photographs,Copies of Mark Sheets & Certificates, and stationary items.
- Students must compulsorily carry their College ID Cards
- Defaulters will not be allowed to attend the interview process.
- Students are not allowed to contact Company/ HR Delegates directly for any reason. If they are facing any issues,they have to first contact their Placement Officer and discuss with Him/Her.
- Strict discipline needs to be followed by every student during the recruitment process. Any sort of misbehaviour on the part of the students which affects the decorum of the Company and the reputation of the Institution will attract severe penalty
- Many times it can happen that Campus Recruitment Process can stretch till late evening. All students have to inform this to their Parents/ Guardian/Hostel Warden and should arrange their own transport.
PLACEMENT PROCESS
Placement Process for Students
- Students seeking placement must register for the placement service in the beginning of seventh semester. The registration is done through a placement registration form circulated to the students during the beginning of seventh semester.
- One needs to build their CV and submit along with the Placement Registration Form. Job Announcement (JA) will be informed through the concerned departments via circulars or email.
- Before applying for the company, students are advised to go through the job description, company profile and other relevant information.
- Students must apply within the stipulated time mentioned in the JA. No late submission would be entertained.
- List of students who have applied for a particular company on time in response to Job announcement (JA) will be sent to company for consideration and only short listed students by (a) company (b) T&P Cell ,as the case may be, would be permitted for process.
- Short listed students would be notified and students are advised to prepare for the campus selection process as per schedule given in the JA.
- Students will be reminded and directed to attend the recruitment drive. The recruitment drive may be an ON Campus, OFF campus or a pool drive.
- On Campus Recruitment Day, the Students have to ensure the following:

- The companies that have come for the campus placements put up pre placement presentations regarding their organization. The students get to know all about the companies, their recruitment process and the salaries that can be expected. After the presentations, students are allowed to ask questions to the representatives.
- The pre-placement talk will be followed by Written test, group discussion, technical and HR Round. The number of rounds depends on the company.
- Company needs to provide the final list of selected students and waitlisted students (if any) at the end of the recruitment process to the TPO.
- The Placement Office also coordinates the signing of offer letters by students who have been selected to ensure that they reach the company/organization as per their joining dates.
Placement Process for Companies
- Companies are invited through e-mail and phone calls. The organizations, in turn, may also contact the Placement Cell directly to meet their human resource requirement.
- Companies interested in recruiting MIT students will indicate that they have accepted the Policy and the placement procedure adopted by the Placement Cell. The following Information will be gathered:
- The declaration of a compensation package.
- Confirmation of campus visit, and preferred dates.
- The procedure to be followed during the campus recruitment drive.
- The Job Profile(s) & designation(s) offered.
- The company/organization should confirm or negotiate their dates with the Cell.
- Pre-placement talks are held at the Institute during which the companies shall make presentations about their operations and job profile(s) offered. The pre-placement talk will be followed by Written test, group discussion, technical and HR Round. The number of rounds depends on the company.
- The company is required to furnish the final list of selected students soon after the completion of the selection procedure.
- The company shall send or hand over the offer letter within a set time-frame and with mutual understanding.
