SARATH S is the Head of the Department and Assistant Professor of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at Mahaguru Institute of Technology, where he has served since February 2023. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Renewable Energy at Kalasalingam University, reflecting his strong commitment to academic growth and research. He holds an M.Tech in Industrial Drives and Control and a B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and has additional professional training in Electrical CADD and Primavera.
With extensive teaching experience from leading institutions such as Musaliar College of Engineering & Technology and MES Institute of Technology & Management, Sarath has contributed actively to academic leadership, department coordination and student mentoring. His core interests include electric vehicle charging stations and industrial drives and he has successfully spearheaded initiatives that ensure academic excellence, including achieving 100% placement for graduating students and receiving the Yuva Karshaka Award for his contributions.
Sarath has organized and convened several workshops and seminars, ranging from renewable energy and electric vehicle technology to power systems and control systems. He is recognized for bringing practical exposure to students and staff through hands-on training and site visits. His leadership extends to coordinating placement drives, project expos and faculty development programs, which foster a dynamic learning environment and industry engagement within the department.
His research work includes publications in reputed journals and IEEE conferences on smart manufacturing, cyber threat detection, solar PV systems and energy forecasting. Additionally, Sarath holds a patent for a Smart Predictive Traffic Control System, demonstrating his drive for technological innovation. His comprehensive approach in blending research, teaching and industry practices is dedicated to preparing students for the evolving challenges in electrical engineering and empowering them for successful careers.
