ARUN KUMAR G is the Head of the Department and Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Mahaguru Institute of Technology. Since joining MIT in 2015, he has contributed significantly to mechanical engineering education and currently leads the department. Arun Kumar is pursuing his Ph.D. in Additive Manufacturing at Kalasalingam University, Madurai, further enhancing his expertise. He holds an M.E. in Thermal Engineering from Adhi Parasakthi College of Engineering, Chennai and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Infant Jesus College of Engineering, Thoothukudi.

His core interests and specialization focus on thermal engineering, energy engineering and automobile engineering. Arun Kumar has also served in faculty roles at Travancore Engineering College and Archana College of Engineering, providing him with broad teaching and administrative experience. As the Exam Cell Coordinator and now HoD, he supports academic innovation, process improvement and quality assurance within the department.

Arun Kumar’s research includes published work on biodiesel blends and performance characteristics of low heat rejection diesel engines, with his articles featured in international journals such as IJSRD and Advanced Materials Research. He is an active member of ISTE and SAE, indicating a commitment to both academic and industry standards. His engagement extends to serving as a panel judge in intercollegiate workshops, contributing to academic outreach and skill development.

Dedicated to mentoring students and promoting advanced research, Arun Kumar continually strives to integrate modern engineering principles into the curriculum and departmental activities. His vision centers on developing future-ready mechanical engineers with strong technical skills, research orientation and adaptability for the evolving engineering landscape.
