He heads the Department of Computational Biology & Bioinformatics and also the State Inter University Centre for Excellence in Bioinformatics, University of Kerala. He had his B.Tech (Electrical Engineering) from College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram.
Sri. Jayachandra Raj is a noted economist and a profound astrologer. He has published more than 2000 research papers in the field of economics. His research ideas and efforts formed the guiding principles for launch of Two Wheeler Bike Tax (Kerala) 1994.
