Computer Science & Engineering

A Foundation for Digital Transformation

About the Department

Computer Science is the scientific and practical approach to computation and its applications. The Department of Computer Science & Engineering in MIT started its journey of UG program B.Tech (CSE) in the year 2009 with an intake of 60.

The department has well equipped labs with the state of art software, hardware and machineries. The department offers excellent academic environment with a team of highly qualified faculty members to inspire the students to develop their technical skills and inculcate the spirit of team work in them.

Department is actively involved in academic as well as research work in current areas of Computer Science and Engineering and multi-disciplinary streams.

The Computer Science and Engineering course is aimed at providing knowledge in both theoretical and practical aspects of Computer Science. The curriculum places adequate emphasis on the specialization in a wide range of hardware and software subjects.

Software Subjects

Object Oriented Programming, Database Management Systems, Algorithm Analysis and Design and other comprehensive software development subjects.

Hardware Subjects

Computer Network Design, Computer Architecture, Data Communication and other related subjects.

The undergraduate programme is aimed to inculcate a spirit of inquiry, develop the power of thinking, create analytical and experimental abilities, and generate interest in post graduate courses. In order to bridge the gap between knowledge and its application, students are required to undertake seminars on cutting edge technological advances, mini projects and a main project, which help to put them through an industry like situation.

Industry Readiness

Thus the students are well equipped to face the ever increasing challenges of the IT industry and encourage them to research topics far removed from mainstream curriculum, preparing them for real-world technological challenges.

The Department offers B.Tech programme Accredited by NBA (2023-2024 to 2025-2026 Academic Years)
