Mechanical Engineering

Where Innovation Meets Motion

About the Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 2009, coinciding with the inception of the institute. The department started with an initial intake of 60 students, which was increased to 120 in 2014 by AICTE. The department also offers a PG course in Design Engineering.

Our department is supported by highly experienced and dedicated faculty, and features well-established laboratories equipped with abundant software and modern tools. In addition to the central library, a departmental library is available for easy access to a wide range of books and resources.

Mechanical Engineering is the discipline that applies the principles of engineering physics and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It involves the design, production, and operation of machinery, requiring a strong understanding of mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, and structural analysis.

The undergraduate programme is designed to inculcate a spirit of inquiry, stimulate analytical and experimental abilities, and foster interest in postgraduate studies. The curriculum provides a solid foundation in conventional aspects of mechanical engineering, while also familiarizing students with emerging technologies such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Ansys.
