Dr. Arun Jacob is an accomplished academician with over 14 years of experience in engineering education, research, and academic administration. He holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and an M.Tech in Industrial Refrigeration and Cryogenic Engineering from the University of Kerala, and completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the same university, with research focused on advanced mechanical and thermal systems. Complementing his technical background, he also holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from IGNOU, which strengthens his capabilities in leadership, organizational development, and academic governance.

Currently, Dr. Arun Jacob serves as the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Dean of Student Affairs at Mahaguru Institute of Technology, Kayamkulam. In these roles, he provides strategic direction for the department, oversees curriculum development, leads student mentoring initiatives, and drives institutional quality and compliance efforts. He has played a key role in successful NBA and NAAC accreditation processes, contributing significantly to enhancing academic standards and institutional credibility.

Dr. Arun is deeply committed to fostering strong industry–academia linkages. He has established collaborations with industry partners, facilitated student internships, organized technical and cultural events, and actively contributed to institutional outreach and community engagement programs. His research interests span thermodynamics, refrigeration and cryogenics, energy systems, robotics, and engineering design. He has published research articles in peer-reviewed journals, presented papers at national and international conferences, and holds a design patent in India.
